To me photography is much more about expression than perfection. I try to do the technical stuff right, but I must admit – sometimes I just don´t care. On social media – and elsewhere – we say WOW to photos that are just perfect – the right light, pin sharp and so on. I must therefore admit that I am more drawn to photos that are not perfect.
Over the years I have bought several cheap cameras just to try out how to get a good picture with low-cost gear. This autumn I read an article in my favourite photo magazine – the Swedish Fotosidan – about old lenses not giving you perfect pictures but a bokeh-feeling which is special. This week I received a Helios 44-M-7 lens from Russia and a little while ago I got a Fujian 35mm from Hong Kong (bought on eBay).
These photos are among the first – and I must confess that I am more than happy with these two “new” lenses.
